Most of us would like to make some editing with MTS footage from Canon HF G20, but problems came up. While I importing Canon G20 1080p AVCHD to Avid Media Composer and FCP , there are many video, audio issues. The basic reason why we can’t successfully ingest those recorded AVCHD footages on 1080 60P/50P format to Final Cut Pro is limited by the FCP itself. Currently 1080/60p or 1080/50p footage is a very non-standard format and it’s unsupported in FCP 6/7 even the latest FCP X.
So we need to use a 3rd party transfer to convert the Canon HF G20.mts files into .mov and ProRes for Avid MC and FCP. Brorsoft Mac AVCHD to Mac Converter is the one I choose.
